It's good to give back!


Just a quick reminder, the goal of this blog is to act as a beginner ‘s guide to break into the world of concept art.  Because ambition by itself is not sufficient and hard work alone in the wrong path will slow your progress and can get you nowhere. 

The information on this blog is design to help guide you to the right path by providing key information that will help you from making the common pitfalls most beginner concept artists make.  The goal is to save you time and get you up to speed with the basic steps and requirement to get you started in the right direction.

I ‘ve been very lucky in many ways along with hard work and persistency to be in a position to do what I love as a career. It’s important to nurture the act of sharing and giving back.

You can do the same by sharing this with others. If you find this helpful, it is the only thing I ask in return is to share it with another friend who can benefit from it.

I am so confident that if you take advantage of the information and incorporate them into your life, you will succeed.  Because success does not happen by chance, there are logical steps to achieve it. I'm just sharing the things I learned from other very successful people.

10 things you can do to get started to become a concept artist

01. Sketch book - If you don’t already have one, you NEED to buy one and keep it with you. If you’re in still high school, start drawing things from life…NOW. Don’t just copy what you see, but see what you are drawing.  02. Ask question- Why does the chair look the way it does? What material is it made of? What does metal reflect the way it does…why is the shadow there? You get the point. Ask a lot of questions and try to answer them.. if you cant figure it out ..Google it! 03. See, don’t look- There s a different between looking and seeing. Seeing requires effort. Don’t just look around your surroundings, learn to see it.  See the patterns in the wood grain, study the way light reflect on objects, and make little mental notes. There are some people out there that can draw from the day they are born. Then there are the rest of us who need to learn how to draw.  But like learning how to drive a car or ride a bike, there are steps along the way that you need to master for you to be able to perform those tasks effectively and efficiently. The act of drawing is no difference, it 's just a more challenging skill to acquire and require more time investment to develop.
